The shelter in place at Ohio State University has been lifted and the situation is now safe, students are being let out of the building.

One suspect is dead, one victim is in critical condition and nine other people are said to be stable.

In a press conference Ohio State University President, Michael Drake and representatives of the hospitals said that several students were hit by a vehicle outside Watts Hall.

After the suspect attacked more students with a butcher knife. He was shot and killed by a police officer a minute later at approximately ten o’clock.

Two victims were taken to surgery for orthopaedic reasons. All of those injured are expected to survive.

Chief of the Columbus Police Department, Kim Jacobs, said they “will consider, among other (things), terrorism as a motive.”

Two men were taken away in handcuffs, the reason and their identities are still unknown.

 

There are nearly 60,000 students who attend the campus.
